Trinity College student accommodation was a unique project that required a novel solution in order to realise the architect’s vision. One hundred and fifteen operable sashes, hidden behind vertical louvres, were used to ventilate the student’s rooms. The combination of louvres and operable sashes provided an interesting challenge for our design team, fortunately, one of our latest products proved to be the ideal solution. Our Tilt and Turn Window was implemented in a fresh way – turn only, opening inwards. This allows students to get fresh air into their living area while ensuring the building’s façade remained aesthetically pleasing. The neat solution means cleaning couldn’t be easier … something we’re sure the students are thrilled about.
Our SG182 Curtain Wall was also used throughout this project. The curtain wall was incorporated in an interesting faceted application by the fabricator, KP Windows. Students are already calling the new 100-bed facility home for the 2020 school year.
