ABOUT The Community Hub at the Docks
In 2014, the Library at the Dock was completed through a joint initiative involving Places Victoria, the City of Melbourne and Lend Lease. Designed by Clare Design and Hayball and utilizing EDGE’s U-MAX® thermally broken aluminium frames, the Library became the first Australian public building to achieve a 6 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council.
As part of this same project, a Community Hub was also planned for the space. Modeled closely after the Library, the Hub has now been completed. Featuring U-MAX 100mm Centre Double Glazed framing systems for enhanced thermal comfort and maximum energy efficiency, the Hub looks stunning on the edge of the docks and is a perfect complement to the Docklands redevelopment.
